In a recent post on Poynter Online, Dorian Benkoil discusses his recent experience looking for an book excerpt on The Times. Unfortunately Benkoil discovered that the information had yet to post and there was no link or any alert system to push information when the excerpts were live. As Benkoil states “That, for The Times, was a missed opportunity.”

Whitehouse.gov is now running on Drupal according to a statement released by the new media team at the White House.  In the grand scheme of World politics the news that the Obama administration has selected an open source content management system running on a Red Hat Linux system with Apache, MySQL and the rest of the LAMP stack is not earth shattering but according to Tim O’Reilly, this move is a big win for open source advocates.
